Please don't photograph the Google CEO and his wife; his girlfriend would flip
Google CEO Eric Schmidt went to the circus with his wife Wendy this week. Big deal. But after the event, Circus Flora's PR rep (at Schmidt's request) told local photographers to suppress any photos of the couple, says the Boston Herald. They (and we) are confused — that's a damn clumsy way to control the press.
This happened to occur one year after Schmidt's weirdest press retaliation: On 5 August 2005, Schmidt banned employees from talking to CNET because they Googled him and found some personal details about him and his wife.
Maybe Schmidt (pictured here on the cover of TIME Magazine) is just shy. But maybe it has to do with those rumors of his impending divorce.
And maybe, just maybe, it lends some credence to the wild rumor that Eric Schmidt is already engaged to Weber Shandwick PR executive Marcy Simon.
