SuriWatch: Gambling On The First Photos
In what we're absolutely certain isn't a publicity stunt meant to exploit the current buzz around Tom Cruise's inability to fetch an acceptable price for the first photographs of his rapidly devaluing, still-unseen, possibly fantastical daughter, online betting site BetUS.com has announced that it's trying to procure photos of the suspicious infant for display on their website. An excerpt from their press release:
NO INTEREST IN SURI CRUISE? BETUS IN NEGOTIATIONS TO DISPLAY PHOTOS ON THEIR US BETTING SITE BetUS.com Offering TomKat Undisclosed Amount for Baby Pics
BetUS.com - the largest most respected sportsbook on the Web, today announced that they are currently engaged in negotiations with Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' representatives to purchase photos of their child Suri to be displayed on their popular online gaming website.
Prior efforts by Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' to shop photos of their new daughter, Suri, proved fruitless due to an unreasonably high price tag. BetUS executives submitted an offer letter to the Hollywood couple's representatives earlier this week expressing an interest in acquiring the photos in return for an undisclosed compensation package.
With their baby more than three months old, the price tag for the child of Hollywood's most intriguing couple continues to decrease. BetUS.com executives offered to acquire the photos shortly to prevent further devaluation. Photos will have tiered availability with several shots available to the general public and a wide array of images available only to BetUS.com registered members.
Of course, "negotiations" could refer to a series of unreturned messages to Cruise's publicist describing their idea, so take this all with the appropriate skepticism. But maybe the pitch isn't quite as crazy as it might seem; at this point, Cruise's baby feels only as authentic as, say, a grilled cheese featuring the image of the Virgin Mary, so maybe a publicity-seeking gambling site is the appropriate home for this latest curiosity.
The entire press release is after the jump, should you feel the need to read the whole thing:

July 6, New York - BetUS.com - the largest most respected sportsbook on the Web, today announced that they are currently engaged in negotiations with Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' representatives to purchase photos of their child Suri to be displayed on their popular online gaming website.

"In our estimation, Suri Cruise deserves as much exposure as Shiloh Jolie-Pitt," said BetUS spokesperson Mike Foreman.
"The public demand for these images is just as high as they were for Branjelina's child. We expect to increase the bandwidth on our site to accommodate the increase in traffic."
