Marissa Mayer gave a hint about why she, unlike other Google VPs, actually filled out her Orkut profile. In a panel at Fortune's Brainstorm conference, the Senior VP of Search Products and User Experience also got just a touch creepy.

She believes that social networking is most interesting, with the opportunity to leverage community interaction as a platform for other applications. "You can imagine having a lot more context around people, such as seeing vacation photos and knowing more about what people were doing."

Why, every time Google mentions "knowing more about what people were doing," does it sound like the local mustached cop saying "You don't mind if I take a look around the house, do ya?"
