We reported an hour or so ago on a rumor that Budget Living was set to shut its discount-loving doors. A flurry of recent email suggests the rumor was right. In the order they arrived:

I work directly with [a business staffer] there, and that person has been keeping me in the loop about the fate of the magazine. For the last month, the publisher has repeatedly told his staff that they "need not get their resumes in order." As I understand it, that sentiment ceased this week.

I got a call from my editor at Budget Living today saying my story for the Jan/Feb issue had been pushed to a spring issue... because they're not publishing the Jan/Feb issue. Probably not a good sign.
