Yes, it's true. Original Wonkette Ana Marie Cox has been retired off to West Palm or Boca or wherever potty-mouthed political junkies are put out to pasture. (We hear she's totally dominating at the mah jong tables, much to Sadie Goldfarb's consternation.) But Wonkette goes on.

Enter the new Wonketeers: Two men, David Lat and Alex Pareene. Lat (avec parapluie) is the former federal prosecutor better known as the erstwhile proprietor of Underneath Their Robes. And Pareene (avec ciggie) is, as we're apparently required to tell you, a 20-year-old NYU dropout. He's also a longstanding Gawker benchwarmer, ready to fill in when we're too hungover, or too sick, or too fake-sick, to work. And so — while we're excited by Wonkette's new design and new funny writers and, especially, new man-on-man action — we also kind of hate this transition, because we don't know if we'll ever be allowed to take a vacation day again.

Which is to say: Welcome, boys. And we'll do our best to keep the passive-aggressive non-vacationing resentment to a minimum.
