Yesterday, we ran a reader-submitted Gawker Stalker item in which Jessica Simpson seen being asked to autograph a fan's Louis Vuitton bag. Having only the utmost respect for fine leather goods, Simpson reportedly expressed hesitation and said, "Oh my God, this is real — I feel bad signing it!"

Today, another reader sends the accompanying photo of Simpson signing the bag and notes, "That bag looks fake...really fake." We're too impoverished to personally know the difference, but we're sure your knowledge of luxury details will bring a definitive answer to this pressing situation. If our nation's most intellectually transgressive starlet doesn't know a designer knockoff when she sees one, we have a right to know.
