Today's Daily News reports on the latest trend sweeping Manhattan, in which young women spend a lot of money in order to look like bedraggled shit:

Stylists are calling it "slobby chic," "earthy elegance" and "modern bohemian." But by any name, you're sure to see lots of it, in the form of shaggy or long, wavy hair; messy ponytails with tendrils falling about; thicker, less sharply arched brows; short, colorless nails, and neatly scrubbed faces on the fashionable and the famous - and not just in Saturday morning paparazzi photos.

Good thing stylists aren't calling it "ashcan chic," "dumpster dressing," or "Bobo style," because then we'd have to accuse the Daily News of directly reprinting a Times article from 2 half weeks ago.
