Johnny Depp is completely over the whole awards thing. To listen to Depp tell it, last year's ceremony was a personal Gethsemane where he begged his Father to let the Oscar cup pass him by:

"All Vanessa and I could think of was, 'When and where can we go smoke?' and 'Where can we get a drink?' and 'When is it over?' and 'Please don't let me win'... When I didn't win the thing - oh, I was ecstatic. Absolutely ecstatic. I applauded the lucky winner and said, 'Thank God.'"

We're sure that Depp's passion is a great comfort to Paul Giamatti, who's this year's proof that He's got a real sense of humor about awards shows.
