Our Gal Pal Briyah returns with another party report from the land of fashion, free vodka drinks, and wandering B-listers:

Last night the fashion posse came out to toast the nominees for the Perry Ellis Award for emerging designers. The award will be presented to either Zac Posen, Derek Lam or Patrick Robinson at the annual Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Awards. The cocktail reception was held at La Bottega in the Maritime Hotel where guests got drunk off of Grey Goose cosmos and each other's auras. The CFDA Awards, aka "Oscars of the Fashion world," will be held on June 7 at the New York Public Library. Donna Karan, Marc Jacobs and Narciso Rodriguez will host, with a special Fashion Icon Award going to "Sex and the City" star Sarah Jessica Parker. (Ed. Presumably for introducing the words "Manolo" and "Blahnik" to the 99% of America who buy shoes at Payless.)

The lowdown: Anna Wintour showed up at the beginning, schmoozed for about 10 minutes then split. (Ed. Left on a motorcycle I hope.) Meanwhile, a lovely short haired Donna Karan made the fashion rounds as did Michael Kors, Narcisco Rodriguez and Derek Lam. Zac Posen appears to have been a no show. He must think he's too cool for school. Also: Scott Speedman, the dude who played Keri Russell s love interest on "Felicity" was wandering around like a lost child. It turns out he wasn't on the list and couldn't get in! He didn t even know what the party was for and he kept asking. But he did look pretty hot smoking a cigarette. He said he was in town for a week "taking some acting lessons." Ha, good idea. Us Weekly reports he was at "Underworld" co-star Kate Beckinsale's nups last weekend. He just needed some attention. He sure wasn't getting it from the Patrick McMullan photog who told me, "I saw Scott whatever-his-name-is. I didn't even bother with him."

And then the night ended magically as midgets bursted into the room releasing doves...
