Two readers clocked Anna Wintour at the (horrid) Angelika Theatre yesterday. The first sounded too good to be true. (Anna even nearly got puked on.) The Anna-stalker writes:

"Even Stephen Glass would not have needed to fictionalize the Sunday 6:00 showing of 'Shattered Glass; at the Angelika Theatre. Sitting on the right hand side, eight rows from the back, was Anna Wintour with family in tow. Despite the Mid-Atlantic accent, few recognized Ms. Wintour because she wore blue jeans and a cardigan sweater, instead of the white dress, pearl necklace, and tan boots she was photographed in for that morning's New York Times 'On the Street' section.

"Further doubts were raised when a blonde in the row ahead of Ms. Wintour motioned to a stray jacket resting in an unoccupied seat; 'Is this yours?' The woman in the cardigan and jeans (Vogue's editor or a Connecticut housewife?) politely removed the jacket, without showing a shred of Ms. Wintour's alleged frostiness. But suspicions were eventually confirmed when the film started and Ms. Wintour slipped on a pair of sunglasses.

"During the course of the movie, some baby-faced twenty-something in the row opposite Ms. Wintour started to vomit. As the drama unfolded on the screen, the audience endured the sounds of his lunch hitting the floor. This did not appear to bother Ms. Wintour, who watched the entire movie, but bolted for the exit right before the credits rolled."

Supplementary confirmation from another reader:

"Anna Wintour, her daughter Bee, and boyfriend Shelby Bryant at the Sunday 6 PM screening of 'Shattered Glass' at the Angelika. Dressed in tight jeans and a fitted white jacket and WITHOUT trademark sunglasses, she is very small. We made eye contact, but I did not turn to stone."
