Dan Gillmor, the San Jose Mercury News columnist, thinks nano-publishing could be something new in journalism. Even if journalists such as Matt Drudge and Jim Romenesko have been nano-publishing for years.

Gawker, written by Elizabeth Spiers, calls itself "a live review of city news, and by news we mean, among other things, urban dating rituals, no-ropes social climbing, Conde Nastiness, downwardly mobile i-bankers, real estate porn — the serious stuff.'' It delivers. Even from the West Coast I find myself stopping by the site periodically, just to see the latest from one of my favorite cities on the planet.
