Imagine that you're a woman, your dad is Yo-Yo Ma, and you're getting married. What do you see? Your dad playing cello while walking you down the aisle. Your dad playing cello during your father-daughter dance. Your dad sitting quietly, playing cello while everyone eats salad. Not so for Yo-Yo Ma's real daughter—he didn't play cello at her wedding at all!

Page Six reports Yo-Yo Ma's daughter, Emily Hornor Ma, recently married investment banker John Mistovich at Trinity Episcopal Church in Lenox, Massachusetts. For the occasion, she reportedly asked her father to stop playing cello for once in his life and "just be a dad that night."

The Alex Donner Orchestra performed in his stead, playing the "Blue Danube Waltz" for the couple's first dance and "My Girl" while Yo-Yo Ma danced (celloless) with the bride.

Fingers crossed he will be allowed to provide musical accompaniment for the newlyweds' honeymoon.
