Whining Republican Candidates Get What They Want: More Time To Pander To Us
The squeaky wheel gets the grease, and politicians are the squeakiest wheels of all.
Cantankerous Republican presidential candidates have been crying and wailing for enough time to spout their nonsense for weeks, and on Monday night, they got their way.
NBC announced that it came to an agreement with representatives from the campaigns of John Kasich, James Gilmore, Mike Huckabee and Lindsey Graham, to grant them time to babble on to an audience of millions.
The candidates’ messages will be broadcast on 18 NBC affiliates in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina. The spots will air during primetime on Nov. 27 and Nov. 28, including during the airing of “Saturday Night Live,” and each campaign will get 12 minutes total. The campaign of George Pataki, who also demanded more time on the network, is still working out the details.
The agreement follows Donald Trump’s appearance hosting “Saturday Night Live” on Nov. 7, during which he spent a total of 12 minutes and 5 seconds on air.
