Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said in a statement today that Ukrainian troops destroyed Russian military vehicles that came into the country last night. Russia denies that the convoy crossed into the country.

The vehicles at least got close—the Associated Press reports that last night "AP reporters saw dozens of Russian military trucks and armored personnel carriers moving Friday around the area where the trucks were parked, about 17 miles from the border in a Russian field."

Ukrainian troops also inspected a Russian aid convoy today, which the Ukrainian government previously said "could be used as a prelude to a Russian invasion." As The Wall Street Journal explains, the aid convoy is "part of an effort by Moscow to highlight the increasingly dire plight of civilians caught in the conflict and shame Ukraine for failing to look after its own citizens."
