The first thing that comes to my mind about Japanese culture is that one super famous painting of that wave.
On a somewhat related note, everything Japanese is super epic and cute and awesome and I think they're going to do a great job.

I feel the complete opposite. Everything Japan does is super creepy and morbid and dystopian and I don't understand peoples fascination with their culture.

With that much of a time difference, they've got plenty of opportunities to package package package. Hopefully between now and then they'll fix their Olympic coverage, but they have little incentive to do so.
Since we are talking about sports, 2014 is going to be such a great year... World Cup and WINTER Olympics... winter Olympics are clearly superior to summer.
