Three more people have been hospitalized in Madrid, Spain as a precautionary measure, after a nurse was confirmed to have the Ebola virus on Monday.

The nurse appears to have contracted the virus following her care of a priest who died of the virus after returning from Sierra Leone, and a second nurse who also cared for the patient has been quarantined, Reuters reports, along with the nurse's husband and a Nigerian man who recently entered Spain.

The quarantined nurse has been experiencing diarrhea, but with no fever—a common early symptom of Ebola. The husband and the Nigerian man have tested negative for the virus.

According to the Associated Press, health officials have tracked down 22 additional people, mainly family and co-workers, believed to have come into contact with the nurse who tested positive for the virus and 30 more who were involved in the treatment of the priest.

The New York Times reports that the nurse interacted with the priest, Manuel García Viejo, only twice—once to change his diaper and again to collect items from his room after he died. When she tested positive Monday, the nurse became the first person to contract Ebola outside of Africa.
