“This offense was to be the largest burglary in English legal history. These four ringleaders and organizers of this conspiracy, although senior in years, brought with them a great deal of experience,” said prosecutor Philip Evans, referring to a crew of 60- and 70-year-old men who were caught for stealing $30 million in gold, jewelry and gems after they were heard bragging about the heist.
