I don't see why not since most bullets are made of lead. Armor piercing rounds would pose a problem. But I don't read about a lot of crazy shooters rocking those.

Most bullets contain lead. However most bullets are also jacketed in another metal.

Any round designed to retain mass (Anything except Cast Lead and Match Rounds) is going to, at minimum, throw spalling off the back of the lead sheet. At worst it's going to continue on it's merry way through and plate that you expect a normal person to hold for any period of time.
