The ungodly amount of chaff to find any supposed wheat must be staggering. I mean, I text and email words like terrorist, kill, bomb, Al Qeida, etc etc a lot, over time, and so do many people I'm sure. What the hell is this accomplishing? It's costing us huge amounts of money too.

There's some pretty sophisticated data management systems and they're getting scary good. There isn't some nerdy, short-sleeved shirt analyst reading through every message, check out Palantir for instances.

There isn't mass surveillance of smartphone users, according to the linked article; specific people are targeted, probably through warrants or the FISA courts.

accept it. you officially live in a police state; they don't give a good goddamned how the citizens feel about it. they will continue with their illegal and anti-constitutional efforts; and eventually it will lead to disappearances of those troublesome types; extrajudicial killings and whatever else they want to do.
