Its all very demoralizing because there really is no way for us to stop the war in Syria. Chucking missiles there will only make a very few Americans feel better, and the people there know it. Civil War is awful, we know it from our own history. Its frustrating. Its sickening. It sucks. But we can't stop it.
Well, we probably could, but it would require far more manpower, time, energy, effort, and international cooperation than anyone is remotely willing to invest.
Here's a clip that proves the Simpsons have literally covered every topic there is. Hope it cheers you up for a second, at least.
Right, it would be extremely expensive and costly in terms of life lost too. I read an article that says it has to be done very carefully by hand with lots of precautions... Nearly impossible in a war zone, I would think, even with ground troops.
Yeah we can't stop it; just like we completely failed to stop Slobodan Milosevic and Muamir Gaddafi. Complete and utter failures, those interventions.
But wait, mysteriously Obama has found a pro-American leader in exile, Head of the "Syrian National Congress"... Ahmed ... er.. Cahmed Ahalabi. And HE HAS PROOF of WMDs!

Neither Nato nor the U.S. lifted a finger when the massacres of Rwanda were taking place. Geopolitics is an inhuman or, if you prefer, Vulcan-like business: human "tragedies" on the scale of hundreds, thousands, or even a million will not move an important sovereign actor to action unless strategic interests are at risk or can be advanced. In the case of Syria the matter is obvious, the Assadian dynasty has long been an ally of Russia, Iran, Hezbollah, the Shiites of Lebanon, and a thorn in the side of Saudi Arabia; no more of a rationale for military intervention besides this "realist" one need be looked for. The endgame calls for the disintegration and Balkanization of the recent artificial political construct called Syria.
Except the evidence of mass genocide is razor thin here.
What time this strike scheduled for? I want to DVR it.
Bullshit O'Clock (Motherfucker O'Clock Central)
It'll be on the Encore channel.
No worries, I'm sure Fox News will have it on loop for at least a week. Not that I recommend that anyone should watch Fox News. In fact, there's a service I use that watches Fox News so I don't ever have to.
That's the spirit!
Sadly, though, it's probably one of the more true things said in this whole situation.
