Isabel Khan, a former science teacher at Imagine School in West Melbourne, Fla., pleaded guilty to having been in a months-long sexual affair with a then 14-year-old student.

The two apparently first became involved after the male student made a joke in class in 2011.

“Investigators said the victim wrote his phone number on the board looking to catch the eye of the girls in his class,” WESH reports, “but instead got calls and texts from Khan, a then-married teacher with children.” Over “several months,” Khan “would have sex with the student in local motel rooms,” in her car, and her apartment.

But Khan was reportedly fired from the school in 2012 for behavior unrelated to the affair with the student, “such as showing students her tattoos.” According to Space Coast Daily, Khan was first arrested by police for her relationship with the student in June 2012.

Khan pleaded guilty to two counts of lewd or lascivious battery against a child; the judge sentenced her to two years of community control and ten years sex offender probation. As an added condition, WESH reports, Khan will be prohibited from wearing a Santa suit, “or any other costumes intended to appeal to children.”
