Canadian police say they uncovered a plot to commit a mass shooting in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, The Guardian reports. The plot involved four people, three of whom have been arrested and one of whom reportedly shot himself when police surrounded his house.

This past Sunday, a 17-year-old girl in Nova Scotia named Rehtaeh Parsons died after hanging herself two days earlier. Parsons' mother says her daughter committed suicide because she was raped—and subsequently bullied and ostracized—in 2011. No charges were ever brought against her rapists: The police said the case was a matter of "he said, she said," and the pictures taken did not qualify as child pornography.

Rehtaeh Parsons, a 17-year-old from Nova Scotia, died this past Sunday in a hospital, after attempting suicide on Thursday. Her mother stated that a rape in 2011 and subsequent bullying led to her daughter's suicide.
