Jeff Neumann · 08/04/11 04:25AM

What's worse than going to a rave? Watching a rave in a movie theater, that's what. But even if you felt like spending your Thursday evening in a theater watching people on drugs dance around, it's no longer an option for many. The repercussions from last week's riot in Los Angeles that shut down the premiere of the Electric Daisy Carnival Experience are being felt across the country now, after theaters cancelled more than 500 one-night-only screenings of the film.

Matt Cherette · 08/01/11 01:21PM

Back in April, the Fine Brothers played Rebecca Black's "Friday" for a bunch of kids and recorded their reactions. Not surprisingly, the children hated the song. But what about "My Moment," Black's new single and message for the naysayers? Surely they'd appreciate it more, right? Not so much, as you'll see in the clip above.

Max Read · 07/17/11 05:03PM

Lamb and Lynx Gaede, who once sang hits like "Aryan Man Awake" and "Hate for Hate: Lamb Near the Lane" as tween white power folk group Prussian Blue, have grown out of their hate-mongering phase. Way out: They are now, basically, artistic hippie potheads.

So, Here Is a Singing Robot Box With Lips

Max Read · 07/13/11 09:02PM

This is a "robot mouth" developed by Professor Hideyuki Sawada. It is, uh, "singing" a Japanese nursery rhyme called "Kagome Kagome." Fear not! Its intentions—"to help hearing-impaired people improve their speech"—are noble. So far. Soon, its horrible moans will provide the soundtrack to the ritualistic setting afire of human flesh in the "Robot Spring" of 2017. Perhaps if you learn to mimic its mechanical wail you will be allowed to live, in some kind of serving capacity. Probably not, though. [via PopSci]

Matt Cherette · 07/13/11 03:31AM

Back in May, the city of Grand Rapids, Michigan got back at Newsweek for putting it on a list of "dying cities" with a giant, single-take lip dub video. Now the fine old folks at Clark Retirement Community in East Grand Rapids—in conjunction with Grand Valley State University—have just released a new single-take lip dub, set this time to Michael Bublé's "Feeling Good." After watching it, we bet you'll feel good, too.

Jim Newell · 07/11/11 03:14PM

A long-lost gospel album that presidential candidate Herman Cain to have recorded in 1996 has hit the Internet. This could prove to be Julian Assange's most consequential leak yet! Or maybe it was just an upload from a Daily Caller blogger. In any event, this is a great discovery for rare music collectors who've spent years, combing through seven continents, looking for this gem — a magnum opus which settles every doubt you ever had about the ability of music to inspire.

Matt Cherette · 07/07/11 10:36PM

Here's the brand new music video for Beyonce's latest single, "Best Thing I Never Had." A stark contrast from her over-the-top video for "Run The World (Girls)," the new effort features a lingerie-clad Beyonce on her wedding day congratulating herself for the decision to dump her cheating ex, thereby making room for her new husband-to-be. She's pretty, she sounds great, and she's marrying the man of her dreams. How bad can that be?
