Watch Britney Spears Straddle Joe Jonas in Concert Striptease

Matt Cherette · 10/31/11 08:53PM

Britney Spears spent Halloween night performing a concert at London's Wembley Arena with Joe Jonas, whom she recently signed on to the European leg of her Femme Fatale Tour. The downside of performing a concert on Halloween, of course, is missing out on all of the trick-or-treating fun. But luckily for Jonas, Spears made up for the candy shortage by performing a little striptease for him, complete with semi-awkward straddling! Here's an incredibly clear and up close video of it. Is Frances Bean Cobain Marrying a Kurt Cobain Look-Alike?

Lauri Apple · 10/26/11 07:10AM

The O.C. Weekly is speculating that teenage property tax payer Frances Bean Cobain and rocker Isaiah Silva are getting married after a year or so of successful dating. Their primary evidence: screenshots of comments the two lovebirds left on each others' Facebook profiles, including one in which Cobain gushes about spending "the rest of my life loving my best friend," and Silva refers to his "fiance."

Whiny Conspiracy Theorist Gets Yelled at by Rock Star

Lauri Apple · 10/26/11 04:04AM

Here we see a man named Richard Lee (not Rick, but Richard) raising a ruckus at a recent Seattle University event starring financial analyst/sports writer/columnist/former Guns n' Roses bass player/current Velvet Revolver+Loaded member/memoirist Duff McKagan. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer tells us that Lee is a local personality of sorts who espouses the theory that Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain did not commit suicide but was murdered by, like, everyone he knew. One of his pastimes is to ambush Courtney Love, Crisco Twister master/Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic, and other famous people who were close to Cobain and inspire them to seek restraining orders against him.

Simon Cowell and LA Reid Trade Insults on The X Factor

Matt Cherette · 10/25/11 10:39PM

The X Factor whittled its contestant pool down to a dozen during its first live show tonight. One contestant hoping to impress the judges was Simone Battle, who'd advanced previously thanks to Simon Cowell and against the wishes of co-judge LA Reid. So when Battle's performance fell flat tonight, Reid wasted no time taking Cowell to task, setting off a little pissing match that you can see for yourself above.

Pete Seeger Joins Occupy Wall Street With 'This Little Light'

Max Read · 10/22/11 09:39AM

Here's 92-year-old American treasure Pete Seeger, accompanied by Arlo Guthrie, Tom Chapin and David Amram, as well as grandson Tao Rodriguez-Seeger, singing "This Little Light" at Columbus Circle at around midnight last night. Seeger and the other musicians had a performance at Symphony Space on the Upper West Side on Friday evening; afterward, the group joined a crowd of about 1,000 for a march 30 blocks south (singing the entire way) to Columbus Circle, where they set up a small performance. (In the video, Seeger, wearing a red hat, is sitting just to the right of Amram, who's playing a... whistle? Pipe? Flute?)

Britney Spears Is 'Criminal'

Matt Cherette · 10/18/11 02:05AM

Britney Spears hasn't shown much of a wild side in the past three years, at least in public. But her music videos are as risqué as ever, as you'll see in this new Bonnie and Clyde-inspired one for "Criminal," which features Spears and real-life boyfriend Jason Trawick being quite felonious in the very few moments they're not busy having sex.

What's New in Music

James Apsimon · 10/17/11 04:57PM

Looks like it's over between Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore, the alt-rock power couple of Sonic Youth. With the future of the band uncertain, a number of artists, young and old, have already stepped forward to fill the void. Let's listen in.

Herman Cain Sings About Pizza to the Tune of 'Imagine'

Jim Newell · 10/17/11 11:54AM

You know all of those dumb jokes about how Herman Cain, former Godfather's Pizza CEO, just thinks about pizza all the time? Well here's Herman Cain himself making one of them 20 years ago at the Omaha Press Club. The difference is that his joke — a performance of John Lennon's commie song "Imagine" but with lyrics about pizza — is rather well plotted!

Beyonce's 'Love On Top'

Matt Cherette · 10/17/11 02:12AM

Beyonce released the video for "Love On Top" today, which she famously performed at the VMAs after announcing she was pregnant. An apparent homage to New Edition's "If It Isn't Love" video, here's hoping Beyonce's latest doesn't stir up charges of stolen choreography again.

Scenes From Today's Martin Luther King Memorial Dedication

Lauri Apple · 10/16/11 04:39PM

With tens of thousands of people occupying the streets, squares, Citibanks, and other public places of America to demand economic human rights for all, the dedication of a memorial to Martin Luther King Jr. seems like good timing—even if the memorial itself is kinda weird.

Watch Lady Gaga Play Marilyn Monroe to Bill Clinton's JFK

Max Read · 10/16/11 10:02AM

"I'm having my first real Marilyn moment," Lady Gaga told the crowd at the "Decade of Difference" concert (celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Clinton Foundation) last night after wishing Bill Clinton a happy birthday and before launching into a rendition of "Bad Romance" cleverly retitled "Bill Romance." (Technically, the former president's birthday is in August.) That seemed to be where the "Marilyn moment" ended, as far as we know, though President Clinton seemed to enjoy it nonetheless: "I got nervous when Gaga said she was planning to have a Marilyn moment and I thought 'I will have a heart attack for my 65th birthday.'" Shameless Meme-Baiting Music Video Becomes a Meme

Adrian Chen · 10/14/11 01:38PM

It used to be impossible to predict what videos would go viral. But as "Facebook Official" proves, all you need now is a huge budget and a bunch of cliches about Facebook.

Betty White Is 'Still Hot'

Matt Cherette · 10/13/11 01:06AM

Who says an 89-year-old can't get into the rap game? Betty White's latest tour de force is this music video for "I'm Still Hot," a duet with the British singer Luciana. But don't think that White's venture into hip hop is all fun and games: The project benefits one of White's favorite charities, the Los Angeles Zoo. [via Idolator]

Watch Susan Boyle Butcher 'Unchained Melody'

Matt Cherette · 10/11/11 09:22PM

It's pretty much a given that when Susan Boyle performs on live television, she does so while standing completely still amid dim lighting and fake fog in some sort of floor-length "polygamy chic" dress. As a performer, Boyle is usually either truly great or tragically bad. Unfortunately, her rendition of the Righteous Brothers' "Unchained Melody" on tonight's Dancing with the Stars results show was closer to the latter.
