Jordan Sargent · 08/15/16 01:16PM

This morning in Rio, Spanish dressage rider Severo Jesus Jurado Lopez and his horse Lorenzo (please roll the “r”), trotted onto the Olympic course and began a dance routine to the legendary “Smooth” by Carlos Santana and Rob Thomas—perhaps the most indelible song about giving your heart, making it real, or else forgetting about it in the history of recorded music.

Amanda Knox, Not a Murderer, Does Karaoke About Dead People

Jordan Sargent · 05/13/15 04:06PM

Being tried for murder apparently didn’t dull Amanda Knox’s sense of humor. Last night in New York, the one-time accused roommate stabber belted out The Cranberries’ “Zombie,” a song about tragic death, with all the fervor of someone no longer facing life in a foreign prison.

Can You Smell What the Rock Is Karaoking?

Dayna Evans · 12/24/14 11:40AM

Perhaps feeling pressured to show up in the wake of his shorter costar's karaoke successes, Dwayne "The Rock" "Can u smell what the rock is cookin'" Johnson gave a try at some karaoke singing himself. On this morning's episode of LIVE With Kelly and Michael, a rock melted viewers' hearts with a go-get-em rendition of "Here Comes Santa Claus," featuring a cameo from everyone's favorite fat guy with a bag.

Taylor Swift/Prince William Sing-Along Video Ruins Thanksgiving

Caity Weaver · 11/27/13 12:00PM

Prince of England Prince William and Princess of Snails Taylor Swift joined Jon Bon Jovi on stage for a quick sing-along at a charity gala Tuesday night and, if you expected the resulting performance of "Livin' on a Prayer" to be the most awkward thing that has ever transpired between three humans, what occurred was even more awkward than what you were expecting, as several different artistic styles battling for dominance.

Katy Perry & Robert Pattinson's Drunk Karoke Video Is Your Weekend Jam

Caity Weaver · 10/25/13 04:11PM

For whatever reason, this video of an apparently sloshed Robert Pattinson and Katy Perry performing Boyz II Men karaoke staple "I'll Make Love to You" at a friend's birthday in December 2008 surfaced on the Internet today, nearly five years later. The performance is pretty atrocious (also entertaining in the way closed circuit video of drunk celebrities crawling into one another's laps can't help but be), but, then, neither of them is known for being a particularly good singer.

Killer Karaoke Combines Singing and Danger, Is the Only Show You Should Watch With Your Grandmother This Thanksgiving

Kate Bennert · 11/20/12 01:45PM

Not since the original Fear Factor has a television show so unapologetically capitalized on our sadistic consumerist tendencies, but TruTV's new show Killer Karaoke has done that all over again and so much more. The hour-long television event (which premieres this Friday, the day after Thanksgiving) features five contestants competing for a grand prize of $10,000 while singing cult-classic hits from the last three decades while being forced to engage in several challenges that could potentially maim if not kill them. For instance, watch this guy sing "Hard to Handle" while repeatedly receiving several volts of electric shock.

Man Who Allegedly Shot Son Over Karaoke Song Faces Trial

Taylor Berman · 07/19/12 06:38PM

Karaoke is one of those things that you either love or hate. Fifty-year old William Carr Oller Jr, of Shingletown, California, loves it. Seventy-year old William Henry Oller Sr, of Sacramento, California, and William Carr Oller Jr's father, hates it. Oller Jr loves Karaoke so much that he wouldn't stop singing a country song when his father asked him to. So Oller Sr shot Oller Jr in the arm, allegedly.

Karaoke Provokes Punching

Hamilton Nolan · 10/07/11 09:14AM

Today in Understandable Although Not Technically Excusable Crimes: Paul Collen, 42, punched a 79 year-old man and knocked him through a plate glass window at a hotel bar "after complaining about the older man's karaoke singing."

Jim Carrey Sang 'Creep' at a Bar and Was Actually Pretty Good

Matt Cherette · 09/12/11 02:30AM

I'm not exactly sure why Jim Carrey walked into a Lower East Side bar called Arlene's Grocery on Friday night and ended up performing the Radiohead song "Creep"—as you'll see, there appears to be a camera crew with him—but I do know that he's a lot better of a singer than I expected. And given the reaction to his video love letter to Emma Stone, Carrey also scores some points for relativity. [via YouTube]

Jason Segel and John Krasinski Crash Bachelorette Party, Sing Drunken Karaoke

Whitney Jefferson · 06/22/11 02:50PM

As the story goes, an inebriated John Krasinski and Jason Segel crashed a bachelorette party in Ann Arbor, Michigan last night. TMZ has video of the pair singing "Brown Eyed Girl" with the lucky bride-to-be and a sex doll, but we're pretty taken with their performance of Joe Cocker's "A Little Help With My Friends." And damn if we don't love watching drunk celebrities sing songs together.
