Is Drew Barrymore Laughing All The Way To The Altar?

Molly Friedman · 02/29/08 12:50PM

Putting Drew Barrymore's last relationship with Fab from The Strokes aside, the girl does seem to fancy the funnymen (Tom Green, Zach Braff, and recent boytoy Justin Long among them). But after seeing beach pics reminiscent of those painfully staged Heidi and Spencer photos, we're wondering if all this gooeyness means that yet another Drew Dating Disaster is in store. Among the comments made in her cover story from this month's Vogue: "My cheeks hurt, I'm so happy." Long's gushy response? "She makes my cheeks hurt too." Plus, Drew is apparently fond of calling him her "gentleman caller" (nice to see someone is still reading Tennessee Williams). And then there's the kicker: as Oprah's website reveals, Drew and Justin are set to make a "worldwide announcement" on Monday's show...

Microsoft Hires Too-Cool Ad Agency In Brilliant/ Dumb (?) Move

Hamilton Nolan · 02/28/08 01:08PM

Microsoft has finally figured out that, despite being one of the world's most powerful corporations, it is getting its ass handed to it in the advertising arena. As annoying as those "Mac vs. PC" ads are, it's pretty amusing that the richest man in the world is having his company's consumer credibility shredded by the cultivated stubble and shrugs of Justin Long, who isn't even funny or anything. Now, Microsoft has struck back by handing a $300 million consumer advertising account to Crispin Porter & Bogusky, the HOT and HIP young Miami agency that brought us campaigns like the Miller Lite "Man Laws" and Burger King's scary, big-headed "King" figure. Things are about to get weird. A guide to what to expect, after the jump.

Mac guy Justin Long drops his iPhone in a pool

Jordan Golson · 02/08/08 05:19PM

Justin Long, the sci-fi actor who also plays "Mac" in Apple's TV commercials, dropped his precious iPhone into a swimming pool according to celebrity blog Out All Night. "I do [have an iPhone], but it fell in a swimming pool, so it's a little broken right now," says Long. That's too bad, Justin. Maybe you and Digg founder Kevin Rose can commiserate — after all, his iPhone got a little broken too. (Photo by AP/Paul Sakuma)

Selling Animated Chipmunks To The TRL Generation

As Live Free or Die Hard co-star Bruce Willis surely could have warned Justin Long, cashing the paycheck for a voiceover in a second-rate animated family film is the easy part of the gig; the hard part is the fulfilling the oft-humiliating promotional responsibilities to support the movie.

Radar Jumps the Gun on Annoying Mac Ad Guy

Doree Shafrir · 11/14/06 02:25PM

Last week, Radar ran an EXCLUSIVE! about the ditching of Mac guy Justin Long from those Mac vs. PC ads. The spin, according to Radar EXCLUSIVE!-maker-in-residence Jeff Bercovici, was that Long had been canned because he'd come off as more annoying than the PC guy, played by Daily Show correspondent John Hodgman. No one would talk on the record about what future ads would bring.

Mac Guy Forced To Pervert His Talent For Commerce

abalk2 · 08/14/06 03:05PM

We weren't aware that Justin Long was "famous" enough to inspire a backlash, but apparently the star of the Mac ads (and the forthcoming feature film Young School) has been on the receiving end of a bit of vitriol roundabout these here Internets. We find the young actor delightful and charming, and think it shows incredible commitment to craft that someone who literally looks like a penis has enough self-belief to persevere in an industry where so much is based on appearances, but even we've got to say he's not helping himself with quotes like this:
