Stephen “Greg” Fisk, the newly-elected mayor of Juneau, was found dead in his home Monday afternoon. Cops haven’t said much about the 70-year-old politician’s cause of death, except to advise reporters that rumors he’d been assaulted are just “speculation” at this point.

Bears! Everyone agrees that they need to be put in their place. But only one woman in America is brave enough to do so: Brooke Collins of Juneau, Alaska, who punched a bear in the face to save her dog.

On her way home from medical treatment for breast cancer, Alaska state Rep. Sharon Cissna underwent a TSA body scan at the airport in Seattle. Agents then ordered a pat-down of the state representative after noticing her mastectomy on the scan, says her chief-of-staff. Cissna, who is a Democrat, decided to leave the airport and take a 12-hour boat ride from Seattle to Juneau, instead.
