Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber resigned today following allegations that his fiancée improperly used her position of influence to gain more than $200,000 in consulting fees. Oregon Secretary of State Kate Brown will replace Kitzhaber and become the first openly LGBT governor in U.S. history.
