The Week In Parties

cityfile · 07/18/08 01:47PM

(1) Attendees at Sephora's party at the Angel Orensanz foundation last night included Lydia Hearst, Kelly Osbourne, Kat Von D, Nicky Hilton, Dani Stahl, Ali Wise, Jason Preston, Mike Satsky, Olivia Palermo, and Shoshanna Lonstein Gruss. The crowd, though, was more impressed by the presence of out-and-proud couple Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson (above, with half-sister Annabelle) than by performances by Ashanti and Natasha Bedingfield. Newest 'It' Girl In With Bad, Gay Crowd

Remember Susan Hancock, the art collector lady with the well-shorn young consultant who was the subject of a long, dismissive story in the Times yesterday all about how she bought her way in even though she's from, eww, Orlando? Well, this is 55-year-old Ms. Hancock's big weekend—she crops up in today's paper, and it looks like her golden homo guide boy Eric Shiner (self-described "Socialite, Taste Maker, Style Guru, Art Terminator") has been introducing her to his friends. According to a Sunday Styles report by Lola Ogunnaike, Ms. Hancock was spotted at a cocktail party last Monday hosted by Jeremy Kost, the nightlife photographer and some kind of artist who may or may not be still the flavor of the month. (In any event, v. v. downtown!)

Jeremy Kost Party Better-Documented Than Most

Emily Gould · 02/02/07 03:20PM

It was a party for a photographer, seemingly attended solely by photographers. We made a video of people photographing themselves and each other at this party. Hit play and then take a picture of your computer. If you send it to us and we post it, maybe we'll create some kind of rift in the space/time continuum.

Team Party Crash: Jeremy Kost: 'Not a Play Area' @ Soho Grand

abalk2 · 02/02/07 02:00PM

Once every kabillion years, there appears a photographer who captures the imagination and fickle eye of an ADD-afflicted public: Annie Leibovitz, Helmut Newton, Mario Testino, Richard Avedon. Wait. Did we say once every kabillion years? We meant more like a heavy handful of times over the past couple of decades. ANYWHO! Every now and again, a young shutterstud firmly, if not a bit daintily, tosses his gauntlet into the arena of the super-fantastic celebrity and pop culture photographers. Last night, we sent the ever intrepid Angelina and He-Bring-the-Party Party Photographer Nikola Tamindzic to the SOHO Grand to bear witness to such and event: the opening of Jeremy Kost : Not a Play Area. Their verdict after the jump.
