Ivanka Stays True to Trump Family Tradition

cityfile · 10/26/09 10:31AM

Back in September it was reported that only one photo would be released following Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner's wedding (just like JFK Jr. and Caroline Bessette!), since they had no intention of making any money on the sale of photos and wanted to keep the event private. It looks like they changed their minds (or decided John and Caroline weren't the best role models): Getty Images has at least five photos of the wedding for sale that it's distributing to media outlets for free, as long as they agree to write a positive story." You can view the pics for yourself here. [Popsugar]

Brad Pitt's Close Call; Jared and Ivanka Seal the Deal

cityfile · 10/26/09 06:14AM

• Brad Pitt lives. Although his motorcycle was rear-ended by a paparazzo's car on Saturday and he lost his balance, neither he nor his bike suffered any damage, although he did get to exchange a few "heated" words with the photographer before leaving the scene. [Us]
• Lindsay Lohan's downward spiral continues, not surprisingly. She's been dropped by her record label, Casablanca Records, and there are reports that she isn't even getting paid for her gig as Emanuel Ungaro's "artistic adviser." And she's been on a "serious shopping spree" in recent days, which probably isn't good news. Then again, she's being followed around by camera crews, so maybe this will all be turned into a reality show at some point. [P6, NYDN]
Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner tied the knot in front of 500 guests yesterday in an "over the top" ceremony at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey. (On hand for the big event: Andrew Cuomo, Rudy Giuliani, Anna Wintour, Barbara Walters, Sheldon Silver, and Emmy Rossum, among others.) The couple is heading to Africa on their honeymoon. [NYP]

Ivanka Needs Your Help

cityfile · 10/19/09 10:26AM

Ivanka Trump will walk down the aisle with Jared Kushner in six days. But while she may have settled on a location (her dad's golf course in New Jersey, naturally) and a dress (by Vera Wang, of course), she's still having some difficulty picking a wedding song. Feel free to shoot her a message on Twitter if you have any bright ideas. Don't bother, though, if all you can come up with is the JK Wedding Dance: We're going to take a leap and assume she and Jared have already ruled out that YouTube favorite. [Twitter]

Ivanka Trump, Multi-Tasker Extraordinaire

cityfile · 10/15/09 02:54PM

Ivanka Trump is no longer just a real estate executive, jewelry designer, proponent of "fresh-tasting, healthy" microwaveable meals, and real estate heiress about to settle down with a real estate heir. She's now a published author, too! Ivanka's motivational book, The Trump Card: Playing to Win in Work and Life, is now here (with a blurb by her almost-boss Anna Wintour, no less), and last night she celebrated its publication with a party at—where else?—Trump Tower. Naturally, all the Trumps turned out for the fête. But while papa Trump wasn't necessarily in tip-top shape (he's "put on a bit of weight around the middle," reports David Patrick Columbia), Ivanka was "radiant and remarkably composed," reports Vanity Fair, even though she's getting married in a mere 10 days. Her advice to other women who might have to juggle a wedding merging two billionaire families while also promoting a soon-to-be bestseller at the same time: "Be relaxed, try to enjoy the moment, and remember: it's just a great party!" Jared & Ivanka Sell Out

cityfile · 10/05/09 01:03PM

Over the weekend, the New York Times thoroughly dissected the three wedding registries set up by Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, who plan to tie the knot at the end of the month at the Trump golf course in Bedminster, NJ. The attention sure seems to have paid off: All the unsold items at Crate & Barrel and Tiffany mentioned in the article have since been spoken for. But it also looks like the couple wasn't especially thrilled to have their drinking glass and serving spoon preferences revealed to all. You'll need to obtain a password from Jared or Ivanka to view their Williams-Sonoma registry from now on. [NYT, previously]

• Eight out of ten Americans say they would oppose any plan to spend tax dollars to bail out failing newspapers. You're shocked by that, we're sure. [E&P]

Andrew Belonsky · 09/18/09 05:00AM

• The Olsen twins will be bartending this evening at Barneys as part of the festivities planned for Fashion's Night Out. So Mary-Kate must have just been training the other night when she was spotted "chain-smoking and throwing back shots." [P6]

The Weinsteins Dodge a Bullet

cityfile · 08/24/09 01:44PM

Harvey and Bob Weinstein are breathing a sigh of relief today. Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds did better than expected at the box office this weekend, raking in $37.6 million in sales. Not that one good weekend will be enough to lift the studio out of the financial mess it is in. [NYT, THR, WSJ]

Lindsay Lohan's Days Are Never Drama-Free

cityfile · 08/21/09 05:45AM

• Lindsay Lohan left her cell phone at a deli yesterday. When she returned a few minutes later to retrieve it, an employee refused to give it back to her. LiLo wasn't too pleased to hear that, of course. (Let's hope the Italian ice she's holding made up for it.) But most of the time, she only has herself to blame for her troubles. Yesterday she tweeted that she was at a store in SoHo. But then she got annoyed when a gazillion photographers materialized outside a few minutes later. [Sun, P6]
Salman Rushdie was spotted making out with a hot, young babe at the Inglourious Basterds party at the Standard Grill the other night. [P6]

Jared & Ivanka Have Much to Celebrate

cityfile · 08/04/09 12:22PM

"I saw Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump having lunch today at the '21' Club," a tipster tells us. "They were with two other people. Not sure who the others were." The tipster didn't see them sipping champagne either, but the couple certainly has plenty to celebrate. Not only did Ivanka break the news on Twitter a couple of weeks ago that Jared had proposed, late last night she sent around word that she and her dad have retaken control of Trump Entertainment Resorts, the string of casinos in Atlantic City that filed for bankruptcy protection earlier this year. Fitting they decided to eat at a restaurant with "21" in the name, don't you think?
