Glenn Beck vs. The Citadel: Who Announced Plans for a Libertarian Commune Better?
Mallory Ortberg · 01/13/13 03:41PMThis week saw not one but two announcements about the development of intentional living communities dedicated to the principles of libertarianism: one from Glenn Beck (Independence, USA, a "city-theme park hybrid" that will marry "media, live events, small business stores, educational projects, charity, entertainment, news, information, and technology R&D") and the other from a group of like-minded citizens looking to build a rifleman's paradise in the mountains of Idaho (The Citadel, which boasts "No credit check. No background check. Zero down payment. Zero interest. Zero property taxes.").

Leah Beckmann · 11/29/11 06:30PMThe Willis-Moore-Kutcher empire is quickly disintegrating. Granted Ashton Kutcher has little to do with the sprawling 8,403 square feet Idaho home once owned by Demi and Bruce, but he stayed there once or twice. So, I don't know. Bruce always seemed like a "what's mine is yours" kind of guy to me and this is just one more sign of the times, yet another end of an era.

Idaho Hunters to Kill Pesky Wolves for Eating Too Many Elk
Jeff Neumann · 05/06/11 08:20AMThe sale of wolf hunting permits in Idaho yesterday was "brisk," following the state's removal of most of the areas wolves from the endangered species list. On Wednesday, the head of the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, Virgil Moore told reporters, "Whether you agree with how they got here or why they got here, they are now wards of the state." He also explained the how and why:
