The members of Here We Go Magic were driving in Ohio and picked up a hitchhiker. The hitchhiker was director John Waters. Here is their story, as told by guitarist Michael Bloch in an email his record label forwarded to us:

The Daily Show interviewed a very well-dressed—honestly, we're impressed!—Zach Galifianakis last night. The topics of choice were Zach's personal experiences in hitchhiking (full of amber alerts and mooning) and his first time meeting Jon Stewart years ago.

Dave wanted to get from Seattle to NYC, but lacked transportation, so he decided to hitchhike the country and make a stop motion video of the experience. Don't blink or you'll miss the marching band, police, motorcycle rally and more.
