Fashion Week Recap

A recap of the shows, parties, and gossip you've missed at Fashion Week thus far after the jump.

Cold Heatherette

Nick Denton · 05/19/08 04:49PM

Heatherette, the fashion label former club kid Richie Rich set up with his friend Traver (stupid spelling!) Rains, may be splitting. Richie Rich was a no-show at Vienna's ridiculous Life Ball this weekend. The organizers blamed "a family thing" but the consensus rumor among the coked-up partygoers was that the partnership between Rich and Rains was over. "People were talking about Richie on the plane, saying he's turned into a full-on diva (surprise, surprise) and has been pulling some major shitty stunts (like booking Life Ball and not showing up)."

Celebrate Valentine's Day With An Insane Heatherette-Related Electro Video

Pareene · 02/14/08 10:55AM

"Mogul Larry Tee, fashion designers Heatherette, new media Artist Andrew Strasser, and music video producer Francis Legge" all got together to produce this adorable and incredibly weird Valentine's Day music video featuring children chanting in their best Flying Lizards monotones over a looped electro beat as some sort of post-hipster Sesame Street interstitial video unfolds around them. Exploitation has never been sweeter. [Larry Tee]

Heatherette Attacks Old People

Joshua Stein · 06/22/07 03:10PM

Clubkid fashion label Heatherette was given some award last night by the stuffy National Arts Club on Gramercy Park—clearly this was a crazy attempt to draw the youth into the ranks of its members. The oak-paneled, floral-carpeted lobby was filled with flamboyant gays, aging relics from the Tunnel days and a few older club members whose senescence was only outshone by their befuddlement. Heatherette's co-founder Traver Rains wore his signature cowboy hat, a Swarovski crystal necklace and flared alligator print jeans. He spoke to us about the intricacies of jerking off a horse. (He's been doing it since he was 6, back on the farm in Montana.) Nikola Tamindzic was there to document the... stuff.

Scenes From A Ball

Emily Gould · 06/08/07 09:10AM

Heatherette's fantastical, Tinsley Mortimer-studded voyage to the Life Ball in Vienna occurred over Memorial Day weekend, as James Kurisunkal and his email aliases so reliably informed us, but it's taken the Post's Brian Niemietz until now to recover from the festivities enough to tell us about them. And oh, what a Ball it was!

Fashion Week: Heatherette

Emily Gould · 02/07/07 12:10PM

Gawker shutterperson Nikola Tamindzic followed the yellow brick road to Heatherette's Wizard of Oz themed show, which starred Lydia Hearst as Dorothy and Amanda Lepore as Glinda the Good Witch. You read that right: Wizard of Oz themed. "We just need to figure out a way to gay it up a bit. But HOW?" we imagine Richie Rich brainstorming. Anyway, Neel Shah was there, which pretty much says it all. If this is somehow still not enough for you, Nikola's got your gay gay gay ass covered with more here.
