Several doctors who treated Germanwings co-pilot Andreas Lubitz before he intentionally crashed Flight 9525 in March felt he was unfit to fly but were unable to inform the airline of their findings because of German privacy laws, according to the French prosecutor leading the investigation into the tragedy.
French magazine Paris Match and German newspaper Bild have reportedly obtained a cell phone video taken during the final seconds of doomed Germanwings Flight 9525. According to the publications, cries of "My god!" can be heard in several languages before screaming intensifies and then, following a loud bang, silence.
On Tuesday, Germanwings Flight 9525 crashed into the French Alps under mysterious circumstances, killing all 150 people on board. Two days later, French prosecutors announced that the plane had been "intentionally destroyed" by its co-pilot. Audio from the cockpit captured the sounds of passengers' screams just before the moment of impact, suggesting, perhaps, that they were unaware of their imminent collision until the final seconds.
Audio from the cockpit voice recorder recovered from Germanwings flight U49525 indicates the co-pilot intended to "destroy the aircraft," said Brice Robin, Public Prosecutor of Marseille, on Thursday.
