Flavio Briatore Drops Price at One Beacon Court

• Flavio Briatore, the Italian mogul, racing car enthusiast, and Heidi Klum's baby daddy, has dropped the price of his penthouse at One Beacon Court. The 4,485-square-foot condo, which Briatore put on the market for $25 million in September 2008, is now listed for $23 million. Meanwhile, his apartment at the Plaza is still available as a $65,000-a-month rental. [Cityfile, Domus]
Brett Gorvy, co-head of post-war and contemporary art at Christie's, and Amy Gold, Christie's director of business development, have paid $3.45 million for half of Abigail Disney's co-op at 300 West End Avenue, which was divided in two. The couple sold their former apartment at 470 West End Avenue for $2.175 million back in June. [NYO]
• Columbia Grammar and Prep, the UWS private school, is in expansion mode. Psychiatrist David Leibow and his wife, Sandra, sold their brownstone at 32 West 94th Street to the school last month for $7.15 million. The school paid $6.15 million for another brownstone on the block last summer. [NYT]

Whoopi Finds a Buyer

Whoopi Goldberg has gone into contract to sell her two-bedroom loft at 101 Wooster Street. The comedian, actress, and View co-host put the apartment on the market for $3.99 million back in June and closed on the purchase of a home in West Orange, NJ just last week. [Cityfile, Sotheby's]
• After going into contract (and falling out of contract) multiple times, the triplex penthouse at 895 Park that belonged to the late movie producer and clothing entrepreneur Charles Evans has finally found a buyer. The four-bedroom apartment, which was first offered for $29.5 million in 2007, was purchased for $15 million by Robert Weisz, the CEO of the commercial real estate company the RPW Group, and his wife Cristina. It isn't always easy being a billionaire. Especially if you happen to be Russian. Sure, you've got plenty of cash and you can afford spectacular estates in the South of France. But then some snooty maitre d' refuses to give you a table at a restaurant and your vacation is ruined! Yes, it seems the outrageous ostentatiousness of these mega-rich Russian invaders has rankled locals in Italy and France and they're showing their disdain the best way they know how: by denying them entrance to bars and restaurants.
