JPMorgan Chase has agreed to pay $5.1 billion to settle claims that it misled Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac about mortgage securities it sold them in the lead up to the housing market crash. HuffPo's "JPMorgan Shame Tracker" reports that this puts JPMorgan's fine and legal cost bill since 2009 at $31.28 billion.

A Chicago woman has settled her $105,000 parking ticket tab. She received 670 tickets over three years.

Norwegian customs officials briefly detained "an American artist" at the airport Thursday, after it was discovered bringing a little bit of marijuana and a lot-tle bit of cash into the country. Fox is refusing to pay a $91,000 indecency fine from the FCC for a 2003 episode of the execrable show "Married By America" that featured guys licking whipped cream off strippers and being spanked [Variety]. On one hand, screw the uptight fascists at the FCC and their enforced moralizing! On the other hand, we know Fox is fighting this just so they don't set any precedents that would hinder their rush towards programming that will culminate in live executions of the poor on TV.
