It's never been a secret that the United States has heavily funded and influenced the Colombian government's battle against FARC, which the U.S. believes to be a terrorist organization. What has been secret however, is just how far the CIA has gone in Colombia, which includes the targeted killings of FARC leaders.

Tungsten is a mineral used in manufacturing everything from auto parts to pens to cell phones and computers. Some of the tungsten purchased by some of the world's most well-known companies is illegally mined and used to enrich FARC, a Colombian rebel army.

Alfonso Cano, leader of left-wing guerrilla group FARC, was reportedly killed in a raid by the Colombian military. Cano, a middle-class intellectual, apparently shaved off his trademark bushy "middle-class intellectual" beard before he died; he was identified by his fingerprints.

Colombian special forces infiltrated territory occupied by FARC rebels and installed Christmas lights on an 82-foot high tree. They hope that this will encourage them to surrender. Except the Jewish FARC rebels, I guess?
