The winner? Democrat Kathy Hochul, whose victory has been declared a repudiation of the Republican Medicare plan. Kathy! Chris Lee's resignation from the House on Feb. 9 may be the quickest political downfall in history: It came just three hours after Gawker published a photo of Lee standing in the mirror shirtless, along with a story about how the married congressman dabbled in a little online dating on Craigslist.

This afternoon, three hours after Gawker's exclusive report about Republican Representative Chris Lee's flirtatious, shirtless Craigslist antics, the Congressman issued an immediate resignation. Tonight, Gawker's Maureen O'Connor—who broke the story—talked about it exclusively on CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight.

Ex-congressman Chris Lee knows a thing or two about the dangers of the Internet. In June 2009, he penned this op-ed in the Tonawanda News explaining why he helped pass legislation that would "educate students on the dangers of the Internet." Guess the lesson plan didn't include a section on why it's a bad idea to send sexy half-naked pictures to random women on Craigslist using your real name and e-mail address.

Three hours after his shirtless Craigslist antics appeared on this site, Rep. Chris Lee (R-NY) announced his resignation from the U.S. House of Representatives. Moments ago his office sent the following press release to the media:
