Dayna Evans · 08/24/14 10:30AM

Amy Sedaris—the god—was on Jimmy Fallon's late-night variety program on Friday, and it was quickly revealed that Sedaris has been doing a service to communities everywhere by getting certified in CPR. If you are dying of a heart attack, the only woman you want to save you is Amy Sedaris. Deny all help unless it's Amy Sedaris.

Yes, Human-on-Bird CPR Works

Haven't you always wondered if mouth-to-beak resuscitation—"bird CPR"—would actually work? Well! We can confirm that, yes, in at least one instance it has: Bend, Ore. veterinarian Jeff Cooney saved a bald eagle (named, boringly, "Patriot") this week by performing CPR on it. Patriot, whom Dr. Cooney is rehabilitating from an apparent car accident, was under anesthesia at the time; KTVZ provides the image above, though we're not sure if the photograph is a staged re-creation of the event or an actual action shot of the heroic lifesaving attempt. Either way, it's good to know that, in the event that you come across a dying bird, you may have a shot at saving its life. [KTVZ]

It's CPR, Dummy

[To celebrate the 50th anniversary of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, hundreds stopped by San Francisco's City Hall this morning to learn the life-saving technique. There wasn't one misunderstanding about mouth-to-mouth and making out, like there usually is on sitcoms. Image via Getty]
