The latest on Colorado's devastating flooding: 8 are confirmed dead and 1600 homes have been destroyed in a flood zone nearly the size of Delaware. More than 600 people are still unaccounted for, though they're believed to be stranded in remote areas without phone service. Authorities are now warning residents to watch for rattlesnakes escaping to higher ground.

The flooding in Colorado is expected to continue as forecasts are predicting more rain Monday. This comes after another day of heavy rain in Larimer County on Sunday, triggering concern of flooding in previously unaffected communities along the South Platte River in northeast Colorado.

The Los Angeles Times has analyzed the Colorado flooding by numbers: 5 confirmed dead with one more presumed dead, 1253 people unaccounted for, 11,700 people evacuated, 30 bridges destroyed, over 2380 square miles affected, 15 counties have received presidential disaster declarations, and over 2,100 residents and 500 pets have been rescued by air.

While the total number of people unaccounted for has dropped to below 200, rain continues to fall in Colorado, and won't stop until Monday. Rescuers are growing concerned that residents who haven't found safety yet are running out of time.
