Anchor Trips Over Orgasm-Inducing Shoes on Live TV

Matt Cherette · 10/20/11 12:55AM

"My arch helps me to climax." That's what WPIX anchor Sukanya Krishnan said on Wednesday morning just before she fell to the ground during a segment about shoe designer Christian Louboutin's claim that high heels can help women orgasm. The jury may still be out on the orgasmic potential of a pair of Louboutins, but their ability to make someone topple over on live TV is now well-documented. [WPIX]

Painful High-Heels Are Like Orgasms on Your Feet

Lauri Apple · 10/18/11 04:59AM

Women don't just wear high-heels because we're suckers who will do anything for a man's attention, but because high-heels possess orgasmic potential, says would-be red-bottomed sole monopolist Christian Louboutin. Also, women are "happy to wear painful shoes," because our shoes help us express ourselves. At least one libido-pain shoe expert agrees.

Christian Louboutin Can't Stop the Inevitable Flood of Red-Soled Shoes

Brian Moylan · 08/10/11 05:27PM

A Manhattan judge denied an injunction today brought by luxury shoemaker Christian Louboutin who has been trying to prevent Yves Saint Laurent from selling shoes with red soles beginning this fall. Guess those pumps you paid way too much for just depreciated in value.

If you tuned into the American Music Awards the week before last, you're probably aware that not only did Jennifer Lopez fall on her well-insured backside during her performance, her latest single is all about Louboutin shoes. (It's called "Louboutins," surprisingly.) So what does the French designer make of the song? He's totally thrilled and totally flattered by it, of course. And he's extra pleased since Lopez called him in advance to make sure she was pronouncing his name correctly: "In America the public pronounces my name in like a million different ways. So Jennifer called me, and she was like, 'Listen, I want to make sure that I get it right.' And she did... from the very first time!" [FWD]

Marc Jacobs Kills Christmas

♦ Unlike the Marc Jacobs store window in LA, which is mocking Sarah Palin, Henri Bendel's display is bipartisan, with mannequins flanked by red and blue polling booths. In more other Marc news, you can add his "Rock and Roll Circus" holiday party to the list of festivites that have been cancelled due to the economic downturn. [WWD, WWD]
♦ Madison Avenue is "pockmarked" with vacant storefronts, reflecting "sky-high rents and how cautious and dollar-conscious European and American brands have become in their expansion plans." [WWD]
Donna Karan is opting not to spend money shooting an ad campaign for spring '09; instead, the company will just use images from the runway show. If this is going to be a trend, models and photographers might want to consider a side job. [The Cut]
