On Friday, the New York Times ran an op-ed penned by Michael Morell, a 33-year veteran of the Central Intelligence agency who served as its acting director and deputy director from 2010 to 2013. Contravening political conventions of non-partisanship, Morell not only endorses Hillary Clinton for president but even goes so far as to suggest that Donald Trump “may well pose a threat to our national security.”

The CIA has a long history of torture, assassination, botched regime change, extrajudicial executions, opaque drone slaughter, and general disdain for democracy. Bernie Sanders apparently wanted to dissolve it in the 1970s, and that’s a great reason to vote for Bernie Sanders.

Earlier this week we learned that Iran and its pal Hezbollah had caught dozens of CIA spies who always met at a super-secret Pizza Hut in Beirut (using the super-secret code word "PIZZA" to communicate meeting times). Now an Iranian parliamentary leader says that 12 of the spies have been arrested and jailed in cells where they're fed nothing but bread sticks and water.

Last month the CIA revealed it was looking for laid-off Wall Streeters to join its ranks, part of an effort to find people with backgrounds in "economics and financial services to help assess overseas economies and to track down illicit money used to finance terrorist activities." Investment Dealers' Digest has a long article on the subject and has interviews with a bunch of people who made the jump. The good news: It turns out the hours are much better compared to Wall Street. The bad? With salaries ranging from $48,682 to $95,026 a year, even first-year investment banking analysts take home more. It seems the CIA is looking for unemployed investment bankers and hedge fund managers to put their "intelligence" to work for the good of the nation and track down a few terrorists. Want more info?
