Here are all the insanely outre outfits that would land him on the worst-dressed list, if putting him on that list wouldn't get you shot. [Photos via Getty, AP]

The other 93% of the time, the people were not arrested. Because they were not committing any crime. Although they were stopped by the police.

Jim Newell · 02/22/11 01:20PMLibyan dictator Muammar Qaddafi expanded on his brief but legendary comments from yesterday in a much longer address to the nation today. He rambled for well over an hour about random stuff, much like he did in his first speech to the United Nations in 2009. For example: "It's impossible for the youth to follow anyone else. If not Qaddafi, who else would they follow? Somebody with a beard?" Yes. Wait, what?

They're slowly being erased from not only sociopolitical relevance, but from existence itself!

Uzbekistan Scared of 'Satanic' Western Music
Jeff Neumann · 02/22/11 06:30AM
State-run television in Uzbekistan recently aired a documentary called "Melody and Calamity" to warn Uzbeks of the dangers of western rap and rock music, which are "approaching as dark clouds over the heads of Uzbek youth." One of the more interesting facts from the documentary states that "rap was originated by inmates in prisons, that's why rap singers wear wide and long trousers." The film also suggests that metal fans can be swayed by the soothing sound of classical Uzbek music. Makes sense! [AFP]

Libyan Diplomats Break with Qaddafi over 'Genocide'
Jim Newell · 02/21/11 04:54PMArizona's' 'Civility Institute' Will Tame State's Insane Masses
Jim Newell · 02/21/11 04:35PM
Does anyone have a solution for America's "Arizona problem"? The once-peaceful cactus colony is now an embarrassment to a nation that has many, but nothing quite like this. It really should've been obvious for years: When you move billions of elderly white people to an area with a large minority population and then take away everyone's money and houses in an overnight market collapse, everyone gets all worked up, and they all have guns, and the legislature responds by crapping out strange, violent pieces of legislation that should only appeal to dogs but get a decent reception among delirious broke people, too. And then someone shoots a member of Congress, which may or may not have anything to do with anything.
