DOJ Wants Ex-Survivor Producer Extradited to Mexico

The U.S. Department of Justice on Friday filed a memo in support of extraditing former Survivor and Pimp My Ride producer Bruce Beresford-Redman to Mexico on suspicion of murdering his wife in Cancun last year. The Los Angeles Times got a copy of the 45-page extradition memorandum. He fled Mexico after his wife's body was found stuffed in a waste water treatment pump, and he was found with cuts across his body. His lawyers have until the end of April to respond.

Wisconsin Senator's Wife, Maid Support His Recall

Wisconsin State Sen. Randy Hopper, a close Republican ally of Gov. Scott Walker, is among the eight senators that activists will try to recall for supporting the infamous "budget repair bill" to weaken public sector unions. So this weekend, some protesters marched to his house — yikes! — to have a chat. But his wife answered the door and told the protesters that Hopper lives with his 25-year-old girlfriend now, and a divorce is underway.

Saudi Troops in Bahrain to Suppress Protests

Bahrain's ruling monarchy, no longer able to contain growing protests, has called in for help from Saudi Arabia. An adviser to the Khalifa family, Nabeel al-Hamer said, "Forces from the Gulf Cooperation Council have arrived in Bahrain to maintain order and security." According to AFP, 1,000 troops from Saudi Arabia's Gulf Peninsula Shield Force entered Bahrain yesterday. This could get ugly.

With rescue efforts underway following Friday's catastrophic earthquake and tsunami in Japan, the nation is under a new threat from an explosion at a nuclear power plant. The prime minister has dispatched 50,000 soldiers to the country's north, in addition to navy ships and aircraft. Also, Japanese TV is reporting that 9,500 people are missing from one town.

California Man Swept Away by Tsunami

Rescue workers are searching for a California man who was washed into the sea by a tsunami when he was trying to take pictures of the incoming wave in northern California.
