Andy Samberg stopped by the Tonight Show last night to talk about Brooklyn Nine-Nine and make you jealous of Joanna Newsom and their presumably perfect life together. (Have you seen their house?) (It's good.) While he was there, he and Jimmy played a delightful round of "5-Second Summaries."

Last night was head writer Seth Meyers' last episode of Saturday Night Live before he takes Jimmy Fallon's spot on Late Night (and before Jay Leno has both of them killed). During "Weekend Update," Amy Poehler and classic Meyers-era "Update" character Stefon swung by along with Andy Samberg see Meyers off.

Andy Samberg, goofball extraordinaire and winsome crooner, is playing a cop in a new Fox show out this fall called Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Do not fear—he will not attempt to play the grizzled, tough talking, late-hours-keeping cop of your normal television drama. It's a comedy! Samberg plays a police officer steeped in lackadaisical attitudes and a particularly hip/ironic dress code (leather jacket, "secret tie"). With a propensity to goof and a priority for dressing in his own styles, Samberg seems to be channeling the infamously dapper Hipster Cop.

Continuing what is now apparently a tradition of having SNL alums deliver its commencement speeches, Harvard invited Andy Samberg to impart his "unqualified" pearls and impressions (Mark Zuckerberg, Mark Wahlberg, and Nicholas Cage all make a cameo appearance) to the graduating class of 2012.

Last night's Saturday Night Live featured the 100th digital short so we were treated a short about the shorts that featured a bunch of call backs and cameos. Justin Timberlake, Natalie Portman, Jon Hamm and Michael Bolton were on hand to reprise previous roles and Justin Bieber host Will Ferrell joined in as well.

We've previously lauded Andy Samberg's Nicolas Cage impersonation from SNL. Well, tonight, Samberg-as-Cage was back—with a very real Jake Gyllenhaal, who delivered the line of the evening: "You're in every movie—you're like the white Samuel L. Jackson."

On tonight's Elton John-hosted SNL, Tom Hanks made a cameo—a Laser Cats (The Musical!) Digital Short cameo! Faced with the kidnapping of his Castaway companion, Wilson, Hanks was forced to pitch the horribly low-budget film to Lorne Michaels.
