The battle over abortion rights continues in North Carolina, where state law now requires doctors to send the ultrasounds of women seeking abortions to state officials. Depending on whom you talk to, this is either a gross intimidation tactic by the state or a necessary practice to verify that clinics are complying with a previously enacted state law that bans abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy.

Court Rules Northern Ireland's Insanely Restrictive Abortion Law "Breaches Human Rights"

In a landmark ruling today, the Belfast High Court decided that Northern Ireland’s abortion law is “incompatible with human rights.” Currently, abortion is only legal in cases where the life of the mother is threatened or where there is a “permanent or serious risk to her well-being,” and hospital employees can face life in prison if they are caught providing abortions under any other circumstances.

The Arizona legislature, which long ago decided to focus its energies almost exclusively on Problems That Do Not Exist, has finally turned its eye to the terrible non-epidemic of racially-motivated abortions. Yes! The crazy-eyed skinhead state just made it a felony to "knowingly perform or provide financing for an abortion sought because of the race or sex of the fetus or a parent's race."
