The Liberian government admitted today that 17 suspected Ebola sufferers have gone "missing" from a West Point district clinic. Lewis Brown, the Information Minister, told the BBC the patients went "back into their communities." The government previously denied the patients left, claiming they were simply moved to another hospital.

The Assistant Health Minister Tolbert Nyenswah told the BCC the patients left the the clinic after vandals broke in and began looting supplies. The fear now is that between potentially infected patients going back into the community and looters bringing infected supplies out into the open, West Point will be further ravaged by the virus, which has killed over 1,145 people this year.
