Schoolkids Beat Bullies by Showering Victim with Incredible Love
Calling themselves a "Band of Brothers," the boys from Williams Intermediate School in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, did more than just express support for their bullied friend — they named an entire day after him.
Six-year-old Danny Keefe takes his job as waterboy for the Bridgewater Badgers D5 PeeWee footbal team very seriously, as evidenced by his insistence on "suiting up" every day with an actual suit and tie.
But the six-year-old's style, coupled with his severe speech impediment, have made him a target of bullying.
"He’s such a good person. He doesn’t let it bother him," said the Badgers quarterback, Tommy Cooney.
But Danny being bullied did bother Tommy, so, with the help of his teammates, the fifth grader decided to organize "Danny Appreciation Day" to show his little pal the love he deserves.
All told, some 40 students from both Williams and Danny's Mitchell Elementary School put on their best suit and tie, and joined together to celebrate Danny and his invincible smile.
"This is the best day ever," the kindergartner said as his friends gathered around him to chant his name.
