Police Say UCLA Shooter Mainak Sarkar Also Killed Woman in Minnesota

This morning, Los Angeles police confirmed reports that the UCLA student who shot and killed professor Dr. William Klug was a doctoral student named Mainak Sarkar. The LAPD also said that police have discovered that Sarkar shot and killed a woman in Minnesota.
Per LAPD Police Chief Charlie Beck, a note left in Sarkar’s home led authorities to the woman’s body in Minnesota.
LAPD Chief Beck: UCLA shot and killed woman in Minnesota and left an additional note. Info at his home led to that victim.

An earlier statement by Beck also referred to a kill list kept by Sarkar:
BREAKING: LA police chief: Woman on `kill list' in UCLA shooter's home found dead in Minnesota.

Police have yet to reveal how Sarkar knew the woman or any further details regarding her death, but evidence is emerging that Sarkar had been harboring ill will against his victims for some time.
On March 10, Sarkar authored a since-deleted blog post about Dr. Klug titled “William Klug UCLA is a sick person.” In the post, Sarkar identifies himself and attempts to warn UCLA students from taking classes taught by Klug:
William Klug, UCLA professor is not the kind of person when you think of a professor. He is a very sick person. I urge every new student coming to UCLA to stay away from this guy.
[...]
My name is Mainak Sarkar. I was this guy’s PhD student. We had personal differences. He cleverly stole all my code and gave it another student. He made me really sick.
Your enemy is your enemy. But your friend can do a lot more harm. Be careful about whom you trust.
Stay away from this sick guy.
Police have not yet mentioned any motive for the murder of Klug, be it the alleged theft of code or stress over grades.
