Unless someone uses power to advance homophobia, I'm starting to think people's sexual orientation or lack there of, should really not be something anyone should care about; always has a vague stench of inquisition.
Also, I think the impulse towards taxonomy, sexual or otherwise, is the hallmark of an insecure person. "Label yourself for me! The world is confusing and complex and I need ORDER!!!"
He totally had the choice to not answer questions about his sexuality. But he did, and I feel it's perfectly fair to question his (public) protestations of heterosexuality (or at least non-homosexuality) given his highly camp public persona.

I was actually less criticizing this specify interviewer, but more our culture's tawdry habit of turning non-hetronormative celebrities' sexuality into a riddle demanding an answer, but shrugging when it comes to the sex lives of those who are easily compartmentalized.
If it was done across the board, fine, but the whole enterprise, for me, is not really about public responsibility or hypocricy- its about our childish desire to reduce cognitive dissonance by labeling, throwing in a bin, and moving on.

Exactly. It's like trying to categorize a unicorn in terms of real animals: horse? rhino? It just doesn't fit.

Mr. Talley adds that he is absolutely not a tiny bit plump - though he says he has had "very delightfully filling food experiences'.
